Bought during year end clearance for a great price of $1300. Inside is identical to my 24 yr old Amana refrigerator. Too bad shelves don™€™t pull out like the Amana. Thankfully, the old shelves fit in the new refrigerator. Also why remove the water drip catcher? (used for the interior water spicket)

I am writing to share my experience regarding the replacement of my refrigerator and the challenges I faced while trying to use the original warranty. The replacement refrigerator itself works as it should. It is a plain unit without extra features, was installed without issue, and arrived without any scratches or damage. However, using the warranty on my previous refrigerator was extremely difficult. If I had not continued to initiate communication myself, I feel the matter would have been forgotten. I was without a refrigerator for over six weeks, which created significant stress and inconvenience for my household. When I received the replacement refrigerator and registered it, I was contacted by a representative who attempted to sell me an extended warranty. He assured me that service technicians would come to my home for any issues. I explained that this had not been my experience. My previous refrigerator had a failed compressor, and no one was willing to travel to the rural area where I live to repair it. After spending considerable time on the phone, I declined the extended warranty. To add to the frustration, after the replacement was delivered, Whirlpool then sent another refrigerator to my home by mistake. I had to wait an additional week for Whirlpool/KitchenAid to arrange pickup of the extra unit. Overall, the process was very frustrating. Being without refrigeration for six weeks, combined with the repeated communication issues and delivery confusion, caused unnecessary stress. In hindsight, it would have been much easier to purchase a refrigerator from a different brand rather than go through this experience. I hope this feedback is helpful in improving service and warranty support for customers, especially those living in rural areas.

This new fridge was in our show home when we bought it. The shelves have a space at the back and things fall back if you are not careful. The interior water dispenser is awkward to use where it™€™s located. The seal on the fridge sweats alot not sure how great the seal is. Otherwise the space in the fridge and lower drawer is good.

My husband and I bought a new home and moved to Texas this refrigerator came with the house. It wasn™€™t taken care of so with our homeowners warranty we replaced the filter which the housing for the filter broke. Our original refrigerator in Colorado was identical to this one but 3 years newer than this one.If I have to replace this one I would cause I like the style of refrigerator.

After purchasing this refrigerator almost two years I™€™ve stopped thinking I™€™ll adjust and accepted that I simply do not like this fridge. Can™€™t access drawers in fridge without having to open both doors and hate having to dig through freezer drawers to find anything. Freezer runs warm and fridge requires constant use of the high humidity setting in order not to have condensation buildup.

Lets shart with Shipping? Oh, that was a joyride straight out of a sitcom. Bought this beauty for my mid-term rental out of state. Which meant I got to play ™€œdrive-across-state-lines-to-babysit-a-delivery.™€ Fun, right? Except plot twist no fridge. After sitting around like a loyal golden retriever waiting for UPS Santa, I finally called customer service. Turns out, they forgot to put it on the truck. Brilliant. Next delivery date? A month later. Cue another long road trip, except this time with tenants already moving in and no fridge to greet them. Perfect timing, guys. Now, onto the actual fridge: It's noisy... The freezer has a grated drawer designed specifically for losing your small items to the abyss. Ice packs? Popsicles? Gone forever. The fridge ceiling is hogged by a fan and water filter, because who doesn™€™t want their storage space sacrificed for mechanical dÃcor? Shelves don™€™t go all the way back. Translation: push a water bottle too far and poof, your back-row bottle is now living in Narnia. The drawers? They come with a handy plastic humidity adjuster that™€™s positioned just right to block you from fully closing the door. Genius engineering. Overall: looks good on the outside not to functional on the inside!

This refrigerator was in a condo that I purchased. I did not choose the appliance. The ice cube maker in the freezer makes FAR TOO MUCH ice! The produce drawers are small and I always have produce on a shelf. The light in the freezer is intermittent; sometimes it comes on and sometimes not when the freezer door is opened. There is condensation on the freezer door gasket and a new door has been ordered.

This is the second Kitchen Aid refrigerator purchased. Both of them have problems with the hex screw(s) on the freezer drawer as they keep coming loose. I tried to Gert a service call on this before and was told that was not covered. Our newest refrigerator has the same problem.

This is the lowest end of the current KitchenAid inside the door water model. This is what GHO supplied us and we™€™re stuck with it. I have friends who own Kitchen Aid and have nothing but problems and I assume that we™€™re gonna be having the same problem. Is unacceptable to be given this type of material with no resolution to putting things in the refrigerator.

I bought this 3 years go. The water dispenser is inside the unit. You need two hands to operate it and it drips a few drops after each use. Also, the compressor noise is too loud and annoying.

The water dispenser is inside the fridge. It is hard to dispense because you need two hands, one to hold the container and another to press the button. It also drips several drops after using which rolls down the unit and makes the seal wet, then sits on top the the freezer drawer. Not a good design. Also, the compressor is very loud which drives me nuts.

This is an absolute garbage fridge! Not even 5 years old yet and the bottom shelf brackets for the vegetable drawers have broken more then once, the fridge never has consistent temperature. Either too warm or freezes things (yes, we've always allowed for adequate airflow in the fridge by never over filling it) And the worst part of it is the ice maker. Stupid placement; open and takes up a lot of room. Has stopped working on multiple occasions and just wouldn't produce ice and then randomly would start up again, but this last time was the kicker... I still have no idea how or what exactly happened but my floor was wet, opened up the freezer and the ice basket was completely filled with water and kept flowing. It soaked my whole floor and flooded down to the basement!!! I'm so done. I HATE this fridge. Absolutely hate it. The water dispenser is also in the worst place ever! Inside the door? You need 2 hands to get your water because you have to hold your cup awkwardly under the tiny spout and then press the stuff, hard to push button. And no matter what, it always drips water afterwards too. Oh and the filters are $70 a pop and only last about 3 months and then your water dispenser just dribbles out water and it takes forever to fill up your drinks. All around, I have NOTHING good to say about this fridge. Nothing.

Seems to work quite well, but the fridge is overly cold on the top shelf (even after several setting adjustments) and the main crisper drawer squeaks, as does the freezer pull out. The water dispenser always drips two or three times after filling glass.

I purchased this refrigerator 8 months ago and it is freezing the food in the refrigerator. Contacted the manufacturer (as it™€™s still covered by Kitchenaid) over a eeek ago and no one has come out to repair the problem. So, in addition to it being a faulty appliance, their customer service and response time is bad. Meanwhile the food in my refrigerator is freezing and has to be thrown out and no reimbursement provided.

Needed new compressor at 11 months

We bought our Kitchenaid refrigerator for its size and counter depth features. It wa the only refrigerator at Lowe™€™s that would fit into the space. It is not hooked up for water or ice making. It has a good inside footprint for food and drawers are easy to access. At 11 months old the compressor started turning on frequently and then could not keep the temperature cool.the compressor completely died after 2 weeks After working with the 1year warranty from Whirlpool we had a technician visit and they ordered a new compressor. It took 1 week to get the appt and then about 2 weeks until they could locate the part and then another 1 week for service to install the part. the new compressor works well and I really appreciate having a functional refrigerator.

Works well. Freezer and frig temperatures are cold. Ice maker makes plenty of ice. Storage is adequate. Butter dish does not fit in the top slot on the door as illustrated. Called for information but KitchenAid was unable to explain or fix. Wound up putting the butter dish lower on the door and lived with it.

I had the JennAire version of the refrigerator in my last home and loved it, so after I moved I bought the Kitchenaide version. This version has had ongoing problems with the ice maker, the waterlines, and the cheap plastic everything!

Overall Great Fridge

We bought this fridge one month ago. Overall, we are happy. The organization and room is great. We like the french doors. Only downside is the humidity tabs on the produce drawers. The drawers often catch on these tabs and we are worried that they will break off.

The water dispenser is a bit awkward to use and the ice dispenser is the same. Like it that the whole can be viewed with open doors.

Very happy with organization of shelves and especially the side shallow pull out drawer. Also, feature of alarm when refrigerator or freezer door is ajar. However a month ago the refrigerator temperature climbed up to 60 degrees. Checked that all vents were cleared, emptied refrigerator, then turned if off for 10 minutes then on again. It took almost the whole day for temperature to reache 38 degrees. However, called a repair company to check it a couple of days later. Checking the refrigerator and freezer and compress he said everything looked fine. What a scare it was though!
