I bought this fridge a month ago because mine old one died. I had to get one in a hurry but it is too small. The freezer is a pain in the back to use it comfortably. The rack doesn't slide out very far and the door does not slide open like my old did. It was white and it fit through the door. I am thinking by the time summer rolls around, there will not be enough space to hole everything that my old one did.

I replaced my 20 year old Amana with the same size so it fit in my space. My old one was fitted with much better shelving and freezer racks. The new ones are smaller, so I can't get as much into the bins on the door, and I can only adjust the two glass shelves up or down; the old one had split shelves and a meat bin that stored meat and cheese well. There are no bins within the refrigerator or the freezer. The "cheese" door on the door of the refrigerator is supposed to hold cheese, but I find that my cheese molds much more quickly. The old meat/ cheese drawer was so much better at storing these things.
I am disappointed with my new refrigerator. The motor works are better and more efficient, but the refrigerator could be even much more efficient if Amana tried harder to make it Energy Efficient. The new one is 2 3/4 as expensive as the old one. I didn't get my money's worth. I will never buy another Amana anything!

This is my second Amana bottom freezer refrigerator. The first one was purchased in 2005 and was actually still working, except it was not defrosting correctly. Water was not draining into the pan but, instead, was draining into the freezer. I had to manually defrost it about once a week (using my chef's knife to slide under the sheet of ice and prying it out). Otherwise it was still working great. I sort of hated to get rid of the old girl, but after having the drain unclogged twice (both times costing $115) the tech from the local appliance store where I bought it recommended getting a new one. He said fridges normally are only supposed to last 10 years, anyway.
So in August 2020 I called the same local appliance store but was told they were on back order. My assumption was that COVID demands and shut downs were the cause. They put me on a waiting list. I watched for the same product on the Lowe's website as well, but it was always OUT OF STOCK. So I kept manually defrosting it and figuring that the appliance store had just forgotten about me.
Well imagine my surprise when they called August 2021, a year later, keeping their promise (thank you Krisay's Appliance of Johnstown, PA). They were finally able to get them to their store so I bought this one and they delivered it and removed the other war horse. This model is nearly identical... the only thing odd is that the sides and top of this new fridge has a pebbled, textured surface (like my old one) but both doors are smooth, almost as if they ran out of textured doors so put these on. Otherwise it is mostly identical. I saved the shelves, drawers, and ice trays and bins from my old one since they fit the new one... the new one also came with no ice trays or bin even though I got a model without an ice maker; and my old one had split shelves and a deli drawer; the new one only has 2 full size shelves. The new interior light is an LED, twice as bright as the old incandescent bulb. And the controls are no longer analog (dials) but digital.
So far, almost 3 weeks in, it is running perfectly. It is nearly totally quiet... you can tell when it is defrosting by a faint increase in the motor/fan sound but is really quite unnoticeable.
Amana is well known for its quality. My washer and dryers are both Amana as well and they are at least 15 years old and going strong. As long as Amana keeps assembling them in the USA and continues to provide a quality product I won't buy any other brand of major appliances.

We have just purchased this refrigerator at the beginning of this month. Every feature works great. The layout is meeting our needs. The quietness is a welcome addition compared to our old refrigerator. We ordered a ice maker to install...the ice maker model is not available at this time and there is a lot of confusion to what ice maker fits this new model. That issue has made us lower our overall rating.

I have always wanted a bottom freezer refrigerator as the design of a top freezer is terrible especially for older people. I love opening the fridge door and everything is right there at eye level-- no stooping over reaching way down. The other surprising thing I'm amazed at is the space--I previously had 21 cu. and this seems roomier and the shelves are long one piece, I had split shelves in my last refrigerator and that was frustrating as well. The only problem I have is when taking something out and the door shuts I can't open it up again for about minute to min 1/2 ??. It's like sealed tight. I try to leave the door half way opened so I can put item back without waiting. Overall it is a very attractive refrigerator and so far working great.

Made original purchase in July 2020 and paid in full at the time. I purchased a matching package which included a range and microwave. Everything was finally delivered on Dec. 3,2020, however the refrigerator was damaged and I refused the product. The vendor immediately ordered a replacement refrigerator and I am still waiting to get it. I have been keeping in contact with the vendor for delivery updates but nobody has been able to give a delivery timeline. I would like some definitive answers from someone in the know at Amana because I am disappointed in the service that I have received.

It's been three weeks since Art's TV & Appliance delivered refrigerator. The bottom freezer is primarily the reason I bought this, the only negative comment (to me) I would give, I wish of the two full width shelves, not including the shallow depth shelf containing the two crispers, Amana could have provided a split shelf so one side can be adjusted up or down to accommodate taller/shorter items on shelf. Other than that, so far so good.

I bought this in April. By August the handle on freezer had broken. This model is supposed to be comparable to the one I bought in 2002. Door cheaper quality; one less bin. I was told it could not take as much weight.
In freezer, no shelf for Ice cube tray.
BIGGEST PROBLEM. No 'stop' on frig. door. It swings all the way open. If I need two hands to take out food I cannot hold door to keep it from swinging all the way open. This lets in extra warm air! Can you add a stop to my door.?

My previous Whirlpool top freezer refrigerator developed a closed system leak after 4 1/2 years. Needless to say, I was quite upset. I went back to the same appliance store determined not to buy that brand again. I needed a new refrigerator right away, so finally settled on this Amana which was on display and could be delivered right away. I checked Consumer Reports and this model was listed among their top picks. I selected a bottom freezer model because they have the reputation for being quieter and more reliable. I hope it will be more reliable than my previous appliance, but in the meantime I love the open shelving design, the produce drawers are keeping my produce better than I imagined possible, and it is indeed quieter. I find the bottom freezer design to be more convenient for me than a top freezer.

I just purchased a new Amana and tho Consumer Reports still gives it a pretty good recommendation I have had trouble with this new version. The fridge just wasn™™t getting cold enough. The store I bought it from replaced it and the replacement is not much better. In order to get it down to 40degrees it has to be set at ™6™. That is the next to highest setting! This is of concern to me. The other disappointment is there is one LESS drawer in this model and no area in the freezer for ice cube trays! WHY? My last two both had them.....Thanks for asking my opinion! (I think I deserve to ™win™ something for my troubles)

I am so pleased with my Amanda refrigerator. I wanted a smaller one than I had and this one is perfect. It is smaller, but I feel I have more space inside. Like the small shelves on the door. I made an excellent choice in buying this refrigerator.

Purchased 2 months ago and satisfied so far. Happy with layout but would have given 5 stars if the refrigerator's top shelf were 2 separate shelves rather than 1 shelf and able to adjust height of each shelf independently. Freezer handle is an improvement to prior model's bar handle which broke so many times I removed it all together.

After much research and many options I chose the Amana because of the survival rate and of course the LARGE capacity of the top refrigerator area.I needed to be able to see everything at eye level .The shelves are glass and moveable .The temp control is at the front -easy to see and digital.The light is bright and the door has much storage space with a butter keeper.No meat/cheese bin but I use a clear plastic tray on the top shelf I can pull out for that.The 2 vege/fruit bins slide easy .The door seal is strong so a good pull is needed.The freezer area is easy to clean if a spill occurs and the basket holds much.I don't use much ice so 2 trays- stacked- work for me. I have only owned this unit for a month BUT LOVE IT and hope for MANY years of use!! To be able to open the door and see everything easy is a BIG PLUS!!(less time holding the door open and no lost food at the back. LOVE THIS UNIT!

HAD PREVIOUS REFRIGERATOR FOR 35 YEARS. NICE ENOUGH HOWEVER, HAD TOP FREEZER. DUE TO VERY BAD LOWER BACK REALLY NEEDED A BOTTOM FREEZER UNIT. THIS AMANA IS "GREAT" I CAN SEE EVERYTHING IN THE REFRIGERATOR WITHOUT HAVING TO BEND AND STOOP. ALSO, LOVE THE LIGHT AND THE LIGHT IN THE FREEZER. THE WHOLE UNIT IS SO BRIGHT--LOVE IT!

This is a replacement of the exact same Amana model I purchased 18 yrs ago. The dimensions and layout are exactly the same. For some reason the crisper drawers are now more shallow and too easily pull off their tracks. Not a huge deal, but noticeable. This refrigerator is also MUCH lighter overall than the old one. I mean really feather weight. I don't know if this is good or bad, maybe better technology, but also noticeable. I have been using it for about a month and it is doing what it is supposed to do without issue.

I bought this fridge last June and the gasket sticks & is very difficult to open. A J & H Microwave/Appliance person came out on 6/22 and again on 7/1, & told me that's just the way the fridge door is going to work. So, I'm stuck with a "Lemon".

This refrigerator has an automatic ice maker that is hooked to our reverses osmosis water filtering system. Ice maker works great! Also, the dimensions on this refrigerator are smaller than most which fits perfect in our mobile home park model. So glad we bought it!

I bought this unit a month ago, added an icemaker, and couldn't be happier. Having the freezer on the bottom makes daily access to the fridge so much easier. It's so much quieter than the unit it replaced.

I have for years wanted a refrigerator that had a freezer on the bottom. It was either buy a new refrigerator and/or freezer--I decided to go with a refrigerator with a wonderful and spacious freezer on the bottom. It is a much heavier and well insulated fridge and freezer. Love it that the whole thing is on rollers!!!

The refrigerator I purchased is all I expected it to be. It has all the features I wanted including the bottom freezer and easy access top refrigerator. I also like the crisper bins and all the room in the door for jars, bottles, etc. It also runs very quietly. I would recommend this product to others.

I am inlove with my new Amana refrig. I chose a bottom freezer as everytime I opened my last top freezer I needed a helmet for what came at me. Also, the top refrigerator holds so much more (older fridge was same size 18 cu ft.) The bottom is so much easier for me to place and pick out my choices and fits much more frozen items. Pls. consider this as your next purchase. You will be raving as I am.

I bought this about 3 weeks ago.Have not been disappointed. Got to temp. in about 4 hours, Runs quietly maintains its temp. Love the adjustable shelves in the door. Can arrange them to suite my needs. Fanatic refrigerator!!
